Air Cleaners

How Do Air Cleaners Work?

There are several air cleaners and air purifiers on the market, and each one works differently. However, all whole house air cleaners work with your home’s heating and air conditioning system to remove harmful contaminants such as dust and allergens from your air supply to improve the quality of your home’s indoor air.

B&W offers a couple of types of air cleaners:

AccuClean Whole-Home Air Cleaner by American Standard

The AccuClean whole home air cleaner replaces the existing filter and attaches directly to the ductwork on your existing furnace, which means it provides coverage for your entire home.

The AccuClean system removes up to 99.98% of airborne particles from the filtered air and catches particles as small as .1 micron in size. This means that airborne contaminants such as dust, pet dander, pollens and mold spores are trapped in the system and prevented from circulating throughout your home.

iWave Air Purifier

The iWave air purifier is another effective way at eliminating airborne contaminants, but it works a bit differently than the AccuClean. The iWave is installed in the blower section of your furnace and works with your existing filter.

The iWave produces ions that break down pollutants and gases – such as mold, viruses, bacteria, pollen, and dander – into harmless compounds. The iWave also removes odors and does not produce ozone. With the installation of an iWave air purifier, you instantly improve the quality of your indoor air supply without any harmful byproducts. The iWave is maintenance-free and self-cleaning.
