CRAWL SPACE

The area under the first floor of a home and the ground. It is usually 1 foot to 3 feet high. Just high enough for someone to enter by crawling. It contains plumbing, electrical wiring, ductwork, and sometimes the furnace. Many crawl spaces also have a sump pump and pit to remove water. Access can be from inside or outside the home. Some homes have a partial basement and crawl space.
